Admitted 1975. Criminal Law specialist since admission. Higher Courts Advocacy rights for 10 years. Daily conduct of cases as advocate in Magistrates and Crown Courts. Part-time Judge in the Mental Health Tribunal. Formerly in practice on own account for over 20 years. Has conducted full range of cases including preparation and conduct of Trials and other cases in Magistrates and Crown Courts; preparation of complex and lengthy Crown Court cases of all levels of seriousness, from Murder to Rape, Robbery and Fraud.

Has appeared before the European Court of Human Rights and has been involved in numerous cases in the Divisional and Administrative Courts and the Court of Appeal (e.g. Teixeira - breathalyser case). Significant recent Proceeds of Crime cases (e.g. R v Wendy Fair Markets Ltd - test case on culpability where alleged fraudulent traders are charged rent by market operators).
